Graphite electrode is a high-temperature resistant graphite conductive material, mainly made from raw materials such as petroleum coke and asphalt coke through a series of processes. The production process of graphite electrodes includes steps such as raw material calcination, crushing and grinding, batching, mixing, molding, calcination, impregnation, graphitization, and mechanical processing. ‌
The main advantage of graphite electrodes is that they are easy to process and are widely used in equipment such as electric arc steelmaking furnaces. In addition, the anti-oxidation graphite electrode is coated with an anti-oxidation protective layer on the surface of the graphite electrode to prevent oxidation at high temperatures, thereby reducing electrode consumption during steelmaking, extending its service life, and reducing electrical energy consumption.

Application:

1. Electric arc furnace: Graphite electrodes are one of the main components of electric arc furnaces, which can convert electrical energy into thermal energy, bringing the furnace to a high temperature state and melting metals.
2. Steel smelting: In the process of steel smelting, graphite electrodes generate high temperatures and strong reducing atmospheres through electric arc furnaces, melting iron ore and scrap steel, removing impurities, and producing high-quality steel.
3. Mineral hot electric furnace: used for producing ferroalloys, pure silicon, yellow phosphorus, calcium carbide, and matte, etc., by burying the lower part of the conductive electrode in the furnace material and using the resistance of the furnace material itself to generate heat.
4. Resistance furnace: used for producing graphite products, melting glass, silicon carbide, etc. The materials inside the furnace are both heating resistors and objects to be heated.

5. Metal processing: such as electrochemical machining, electrical discharge machining, etc., graphite electrodes can provide high-energy arcs, causing corrosion or melting of the metal surface.
